The Inky Homestretch

An octopus race, a squid decathlon? Nah, just the last 3rd of Inktober. Things are going pretty good with it, I am really enjoying the doodle vibe that I injected this year, just pages from a sketchbook that otherwise would probably never see anyone but me staring at them. I have felt swamped though, busy with inktober, the weekly comic, this blog and then coming out of summer with all of its activities and my 9-5 being a bit of a…what’s a good word or phrase? Let’s go with Sisyphusian dangle. It has felt busier than it should or probably actually was. But this past week I have started to feel a lot more clarity, more drive towards purpose. I think Inktober does that to me every year, sparks a kindle that makes me work harder and harder towards my goals. That’s partly why I do it, to challenge myself, meet deadlines, requests, prompts, to think and act outside the box a bit. My Grungepunk comic has been back burner but its still there. Waiting for me to work on it. It’s coming, albeit slowly.

Lu & Dag are having fun in their space adventure filled with chases, monsters, exploration and deadly old ruins filled with traps. It is nearly wrapped and then we are going to do a nod to a Halloween favorite. Looking forward to that.

I keep typing something topical and political leaning, but then I delete it. I don’t think this site is the place for that. But I do keep thinking back to the comic I posted quite a while ago. I know it feels dark but the light is still there if we look for it. I genuinely hope that my silly little comic and ramblings bring some small light to anyone reading them. It’s ok to be silly and whimsical, to play and imagine. It’s more than ok, it’s downright a survival mechanism some days.

Thanks folks and keep looking for the light.
