Swaggles

Summer has officially arrived. Hope you enjoyed this weeks strip of the kids celebrating the Solstice. We had a great celebration and a fire, lots of food and drink and games with friends. That reminds me I need to get to our firegazing photos. We are in the tail end of a mini heat wave here and in most parts of the Northeast from what I understand. So there has been a bit more sitting in the AC than on the porch but I still make time for that every day. In fact that’s where I have been doing my morning pages and drawing exercises.

I have started seriously tackling character design for the sci-fi comic book, trying to come up with my own style for it and realizing how hard it is to have your character look the same from multiple angles. Working on a thing called a character turnaround. Exercise wise I have been doing a lot of line art studies. This morning was Milt Kahl hand studies. That guy was amazing. Started with just his hand studies before I even attempt his more complex stuff.

Things are looking good and I am filled with a bit more positivity than last week. I may have gotten a better nights sleep as well. I’m sure they are not related…..
