Bit by Bit
Wednesday kinda snuck up on me. Time is flying by, its already July. That’s ok, I am making each day as productive as I can, making progress a regular part of the process.
Progress on the sci-fi comic…
So this week I finished my character turnaround, man was that difficult. Trying to get a character to look the same from every angle, and a character I dreamt up, in an art style I am still defining; it was a headache. But it felt great to complete that task. Now I am working on what they wear, how they will look in space(in general but also outer space). It is an interesting process to see how well a outfit reads in a close shot vs a far shot, how much detail can go away or be overlooked in either. This is all progress though, it is work in the W column. Drops in a bucket, maybe small but that bucket will fill up if enough drops go in.
I am still batting around names and designs but I am much closer to it than last week, I know it more, I have a better grasp of the concept and vibe, feel, look. Its coming together
This weeks comic was a memory I had of catching crayfish in the creek or “crick” depending on where you are from. We never had a plan of what we were going to do with them when we caught them, or why we wanted to catch them. We just wanted to, it was an adventure. I loved flipping the rocks and seeing all the different creatures scuttle and scurry away.
I am planning on practicing starships and weapons, droids, and general gear coming up. I also have a side character to design along with her robotic mobility device. I am building a whole galaxy worth of stuff.
Small drops in the bucket…
