Sandwich and a nap

This past week I have been going pretty hard into the new comic book idea. I have been working on a different art style than Lu & Dag, learning to draw spaceships, practicing faces and normal-ish looking people. I have also been studying fonts and kerning and leading and gutter width, panel layouts, speech bubble do’s and don’ts. I have maintained my draw everyday practice and I’d say things are going well. My sleep is erratic these days though and sometimes like this morning I just have very little energy and more than enough angst.

We have plans this weekend so a bunch of prep work to fit in after a day job and around art study. The Solstice party, we do it every year, make a bunch of food, yard games, fire, sangria or mojitos, or something delicious. Gonna be fun and the weather looks like it is going to cooperate.

Father’s day was this past weekend and I heard from most of my kids. It was a good day, I made tacos, visited with the kids and grandson, watched some funny videos and generally relaxed. I wished a couple people happy father’s day, people in my life that are doing good jobs being dads and that I wanted them to know I appreciated their efforts.

Would be cool if I had a lot more to say but I think some weeks I am wordy and others not. Enjoy a very early view of a spaceship and main character for the yet to be named sci-fi comic book I am working on. The vibe is grunge-punk, space adventure. The title of this blog post only makes sense I guess if you know how many grumpy things I backspaced away. But yeah. It’s all good. Have a great week folks.
